LoSo Block Party is Back!
Neighborhood Block Party on Saturday, August 19th
The LoSo (Lower Southend) neighborhood is ready for its 2nd Annual LoSo Block Party! Complete with live music, local vendors, food and plenty of drink, this party is sure to rock the block.
August 19th from 11am to 10pm, both Yancey Road and Southside Drive will be shut down to traffic to accommodate crowds, and to allow safe and easy pedestrian movement between venues and vendors. Admission to the event is free. All ages are welcome, and dogs on leashes are welcome outside.
Day-long neighborhood block party hosted by:
Doc Porter’s Distillery
GoodRoad Ciderworks
Great Wagon Road Distilling Co. & The Broken Spoke
Queen Park Social
Red Clay Ciderworks
Sugar Creek Brewing Co.
The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
Thirsty Nomad Brewery
Three Spirits Brewery
Last year, thousands attended the Block Party – Attendance is expected to significantly increase this year with the addition of our newest neighbors: Queen Park Social, GoodRoad Ciderworks, Three Spirits Brewery & Thirsty Nomad Brewery!
We are also making several improvements to this year’s Block Party: 106.5 The End is our Block Party sponsor and will live-broadcast from the event. There will be multiple stages and bands throughout the day. Mecklenburg CrossFit, Southend CrossFit, and tens of local vendors and kids’ activities will fill the streets. McCoy’s will also be serving its famous barbeque.
LoSo Block Party benefits the Catawba Riverkeepers, 24 Foundation and The Humane Society of Charlotte. At the event, commemorative cups will be available for $3 with all proceeds going to charity. Each organization will also have other activities & ways Block Party visitors can get involved.
